Tired of PT That Just Tells You to Rest?

Cookie-Cutter Programs

You get the same printed exercises as everyone else — no consideration for your sport, your schedule, or your actual movement patterns. Progress stalls because the plan was never built for you.

Shared, Rushed Sessions

Your appointment time gets split between multiple patients. You spend more time waiting on a table than actually working with a therapist who knows your case.

"Just Stop Training"

You're told to rest, stop running, or avoid the gym — with no timeline and no real plan. Your fitness fades while the root cause of your pain goes unaddressed.

I had a great experience at Athlete House! I tried several other PT's before Athlete House and none of them were working. David got to the root of my issue and my pain is gone!
Nicole Howard
David is very a knowledgeable physical therapist. What stands out the most about David is his patience to explain and demonstrate the PT exercises, truly makes a person feel like the center of care. The facility is clean and welcoming. I feel much stronger with running and weight lifting after working with David for 5 sessions. Highly recommending The Athlete House!
Jenn Kraschnewski
For the past 1.5 years, I hit a ceiling in my training due to shoulder & hip weakness. It was worth investing a few weeks with Dr. David, who truly allowed me to properly progress. I now use the program he built for me in every training session. In result, I am stronger & can see improvement. I’m so thankful!

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

Do I need a physician referral to start physical therapy?

No. Kentucky allows direct access to physical therapy, which means you can book your first appointment at The Athlete House without a referral from your doctor. Just schedule and come in.

How is The Athlete House different from traditional PT clinics?

Every session is one-on-one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy — no techs, no assistants, no shared appointment slots. Your plan is built specifically for your body, your sport, and your goals. We also offer text and call support between visits so you always have guidance when you need it.

Do you accept insurance?

The Athlete House is a cash-pay clinic with transparent pricing. We accept HSA and FSA cards and provide superbills upon request so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance provider directly.

What is dry needling, and is it part of my treatment?

Dry needling is a hands-on technique that uses thin monofilament needles to target tight muscle tissue, trigger points, and restricted areas — helping to reduce pain and improve mobility. All three of our providers are certified in dry needling. It's incorporated into your plan when appropriate for your condition and goals.

Will I have to stop training during physical therapy?

Not if we can help it. Our entire approach is built around keeping you active through your recovery. We modify, adapt, and program around your training — whether that's CrossFit, running, lifting, or sport — rather than taking it all away.
